Seriously can I just say wow? This thing was worth all the hype and more. The device is a gem, featuring things like an accelerometer and a 3.2 megapixel camera, a VGA screen, and 4GB of internal memory. It does not stop there, with 7.2mbps HSUPA and WiFi, this thing is wired. The device features YouTube functionality, and the music browsing is similar to cover flow.

HTC’s focus for 2008 is going to be mobile internet usability, according to HTC CEO Peter Chow. It starts here, with the Touch Diamond. It has true desktop quality browsing. This is owed to the fact it uses Opera and not Internet Explorer. The browser supports zooming using the navigation pad, and also rotating thanks to the accelerometer.

The date of availability for the device will be June for Europe and Asia. With more markets to follow later in the year. The price of the device was not mentioned at the time of the press event. Head on over to Phone Mag for the full gallery of the event.
